Home Depot and others quote 6-8 weeks for delivery of blinds. Blinds to Go offers a 48-hour turn-around window. Just Blinds is less expensive than Blinds to go and has 1-4 day turn-around. Most residents appear to be going with Cellular shades. Seeking good solution to operate blinds for the tall windows in 2 bedroom units. Also installers who can do them.
Some residents are considering UV filtering or shading solutions for upper windows of 2 bedroom units.
[edit] Medicine Cabinets
Due to the layout of the units, any wall which is facing another unit, or hallway cannot have a recessed medicine cabinet installed in it. These are fire-rated walls with staggered studs.

Some residents have installed Kwikset Smartscan deadbolts in their doors. This is a biometric solution - no key required!

Some residents are replacing their standard light switches with dimmers.
Ceiling Fans installed by the Developer take the following light bulbs:

[edit] In-wall Speakers
- Volume controls for bedrooms can be purchased by googling for Leviton Model # SGVST-00W. Unfortunately at this time appears there was an error during installation, and only one feed line was run to each bedroom. This means that it is not possible to have stereo output to the two speakers. It is still possible to have sound to go both speakers, but it will be from one channel only.
- Depending on the amp you are using to push audio to the speakers, you may need the Leviton Audio distribution module.
- The blank plate in the living room has the speaker wires behind it. To utilize this, purchase a Banana plug wall-plate (available at Radio Shack). Two bedroom units will require a double-wide plate with enough connectors to accomodate all their speaker runs. Lowes carries a contractor pack of banana plugs (10 for $21) which is the best price around.
- Alternatively, you may just wish you purchase a nice bulk cable wallplate.
